Watch and control an invasion

Industrial fertilizers are being leaked into the waters of the Great Barrier reef from mainland river systems. When they reach the ocean, they fuel giant blooms of algae and phytoplankton, the perfect food for the starfish larvae, vastly increasing their chances of survival.

In this interactive, change the amount of fertilizer leached into the ocean to see its trickle down effect on the coral cover.
